The Belgian subsidiary of worldwide market-leader in distribution of electrical supplies has chosen search-solutions.net to implement their new search solution for the e-commerce solution.
The Solr implementation was delivered 2 weeks ago and will go live upon completion of the new front-end of the e-commerce solution.
The customer’s requirements were challenging, but the new cross-core join functionality made it possible to deliver the solution with complete customer satisfaction. Besides regular search functionality, the end-user will be able to filter his search results based on 4 criteria:
- items already ordered before
- stock items
- new items
- promo items
Even though, the solution with the cross-core joins is not simple under the hood, the solution was designed with a simple interface that was completely hiding this complexity for all client applications.
Again, Solr proved to be very powerful !
